American Gold Eagle vs Canadian Maple Leaf

The Gold Eagle family (1 oz, 1/2, 1/4, 1/10) uses a 22 karat crown alloy: each coin still contains its stated fine gold content, with a bit of copper and silver for hardness. The Maple Leaf is traditionally 9999 fine—for calculator purposes we treat that as 24K fine gold in one troy ounce.

That is why a 1 oz Eagle row shows ~33.9 g total weight at 22K, while a 1 oz Maple shows ~31.1 g at 24K: both target one troy ounce of gold, packaged differently.

Krugerrand and other 22K one-ounce coins

The South African Krugerrand follows the same fine-gold-in-22K model as the Eagle. If your stack includes British sovereigns, other national issues, or pre-1933 US gold, always confirm weight and fineness—our table focuses on the most searched modern bullion products (0 presets).

Melt value vs dealer buy prices

Dealers paying cash for bullion often quote near spot on common coins, but spreads still exist. Use this gold coin calculator as a baseline, then compare bids. For jewelry mixed with coins, see gold jewelry value calculator and gold price per ounce.
